Thanks for the verbose response. I believe it highlights some perhaps misunderstanding I had of the relationship/reliance between motherboard manufactures and AMD.

So if I understand correctly AGESA development was forked by AMD in order to develop Ryzen 3xxx processor support. 1.0.0.4b is the unified release, bringing back together 2xxx and 3xxx support. While this has been released from AMD, ASRock is still working to implement this AGESA into their BIOS.

For Gen2 specifically however, 1.0.0.6 would be ideal. However ASRock has not released a bios with this AGESA, presumably to focus efforts toward 1.0.0.4b (which would include 1.0.0.6 Gen2 final support)?

Am I understanding this all correctly? If so then I'll stay on the lookout for the final!

In the meantime this still leaves the question: which the highest bug free BIOS version for 2xxx, currently? Did 2.30 introduce any fixes from 2.13A?

Thanks again!

Your board is newer than the release of AGESA 1.0.0.6
So the first bios version already is based on that, i guess.
2.13A is the newest for 2xxx, yes.
I would not use 2.3, the begin of Matisse support.
I cannot say anything related to bugs or fixes.

Thanks, I actually have the RAID manual from Asrock, and unlike the gentleman in that second posted link, he is able to access the RAID menu in boot up to set the drives and the RAID mode, I can not.

Coming back to AMD is beginning to get fun...

Hi,

I have an Asrock b450 pro4 with a 3700x at base clock speed, and Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200mhz and an AMD RX 580 gpu.

I've been having random BSOD with a variety of error messages that seem to happen post-boot.

I tried re-installing windows thinking that'd fix the problem.

But it didn't. So I downclocked my ram to 2933mhz just now and am crossing my fingers this help for now.

Seems like a bunch of people have similar issues looking at this thread briefly and elsewhere online? Is this being looked into? I'm seeing some bios betas, etc. here on this page. I'll probably wait for actual release on the main Asrock website though. Was this issue part of this new bios version?

According to BIOS, on 2.13A, AGES is 1.0.0.1 :(

Really what I'm after is finding a good balance between stock settings/capabilities (Core Boost) without the extreme temp and fan cycling. This likely warrants a separate thread.

Thanks again.

Are you saying you used the 2700x to upgrade the bios to 2.30, then re-retried your 3600? So no post with 3600 and v2.30? Did you follow the instructions - after flashing, reboot, enter BIOS, reset to defaults, reboot? I always then power off and clear CMOS via jumper to be sure, but probably not necessary.

Hello I'm writing this post because I'm at a loss. I have the x399 Taichi board with a Ryzen 1900x TR. I recently replaced my cooler because the AIO water cooler that I had broke. I removed the cooler and installed the TR4 Noctua air cooler. Now for some reason when I try to boot the CPU fan isn't spinning. I have it connected to the correct header and the board is receiving power. I'm also using two 8GB sticks of RAM in slots A2 and B2. When I removed one stick from slot B2 and boot the PC the CPU fan spins, and everything boots up. I just don't understand what it could be since everything on this worked before. Only thing I changed was the cooler and now the PC won't boot with both sticks of RAM installed.

AMD Motherboards : Use B2+D2 RAM slots Dualchannel?

Is it possible to use RAM Slot B2+D2 for Dual-Channel RAM?

Reason:
I purchased a (second hand) AMD Threadripper 1950x together with a ASROCK X399 Taichi. I got 32GB (2x16GB G.Skill Trident Z DDR4-3200). I am building into a Rackmount-Case, Therefore I am limited in CPU-Cooler options.
I got a Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3 now, but it unfortunatelly blocks the first to RAM-Slots on each side (A1+A2 and C1+C2) -> therefore no way of using the recommened Dual-Channel Setup A2+B2.

thanks!

Hi,

Can not find a problem with Corsair PC3200 XMP PC3200

See the test screen !
https://www.jzelectronic.de/jz2/forum.php?act=38759

Which chips are installed on your Corsair modules?
Version 3.xx - 4.xx - 5.xx?

I understand when using the 2700x he could see that the board already came with v2.30.
After the CPU change to the 3600 i also suggest to power off and clear CMOS via jumper like described in the manual. And then starting with only one RAM stick in slot A2. And wait up to 10 minutes after power on.

If still no success i would RMA it too.

Yes, i see, but 2.13A also added:
1. Enhance AMD XFR 2.0 function; change AMD PBO rule with Pinnacle CPU.

The newer Combo-AM4 versions below 1.0.0.4b do not disable Zen+ CPUs support, but it could be that some functions are not working properly and/or these versions had only been validated with Gen3 CPUs.

Both NVME drives must be in a cleared state to show up in the bios for setting up raid. So if you used them before, you have to delete all partitions.

No results, I guess maybe it is a MB HW problem, I'll just wait until the week starts to start the procedures...

Dang, I am having the same issue on my AB350 board. These are the memory chips I have installed:

I am getting these random BSOD on my ab350 pro4 board even with new p6.25 bios. I suspect it has to do with my memory as well. I have tried Auto, 2933, 2600, XMP. I was hoping the bios update would resolve but it didn't. Going to try to do some memory swaps later this weekend to try to pinpoint problem.

Still have not figured out the bios. I installed a new ssd and now if I restart my computer or windows does a restart, computer now boots up. The problem I have not is, windows does not show my secondary hard drive or my cd drive. If I reboot using windows restart option and enter the bios. It does not show my secondary hard drive or my cd drive. If I power the computer down and then turn back on all is fine. what could be causing this?
