The AB350 Pro4 was painless for me as well until now.  Had my R5 1600 running just fine at 3.8.  Corsair Vengeance running at 3200.

Tear down/rebuild did nothing.  Same beeps.

Now have to decide if I go back to this board or other.  Original plan with this build was to give it to my son once the new Ryzen's came out.
what exactly model of your corsair are you using?

CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) PC4 25600 Model CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16.

Hello, with the BIOS version 3.20 on cold boot and room is 20 degrees, the temperature in BIOS was displayed 36 degrees, after updating to 3.40 under the same conditions, the temperature is 50 degrees in bios monitoring with cold start.
Naturally, the cooler on the processor is cool, the processor is 1600x.
This is not the correct data in the BIOS.
Or just specify the temperature in the bios takes into account the correction of + 20 ° C for the X-series processors?

Dear Blackthunder,

Greetings, this is ASRock TSD.

The sensor which detects CPU temperature is in the middle of the socket and CPU Tctl detects the temperature is from the inside of the CPU.
The temperature detected by the sensor is less than the temperature detected by the CPU Tctl about 20 degrees.

Please check the CPU Fan1 Temp source is selected to [Monitor CPU]
When monitoring CPU, CPU temperature will base on the super I/O value.
When monitoring Tctl, CPU temperature will have a 20 offset.

We recommend to check the temperature by F-stream and select [Monitor CPU] in BIOS.

Thanks!

All the best,
ASRock TSD

Just for reference, if someone else finds this thread. Maybe I can save him/her a few hours of frustration.

Asrock X370 Taichi. Error code 46 with reboot loop: I didn't install the DDR4 module properly.

I know it sounds silly and I feel like a fool but to my excuse I have to say that I assembled quite a lot of PCs before and I checked and reinserted the modules several times (but I got it wrong nevertheless). I got suspicious as I got the same error with no memory modules at all - this might be a way to check if you have the same problem.

It has to be done really properly: press firmly until you hear a click on one side then firmly press down the other side too. I had these installation problems on both memory slots that I used.

It may not hurt to press the CMOS clear button on the back panel before restarting (but I don't think that was what solved the issue).

Working RAM modules: Ballistix Sport LT 2x16GB (32GB Kit), DDR4-2666, CL16-18-18 (BLS2C16G4D26BFSE)

It looks like I am making progress and learning things.  I was able to delete the ghost RAID0 and all the real drives under Array Management-Delete and build a two NVMe drive RAID0.  It was my intent to use all my drives (3), but the drive numbers changed when I did a delete and I suspect I deleted one twice an one not all, so only two were available.  I was able to install W10 from a USB stick created by Windows Media Creation Tool.  The only strange happening was the first re-boot hung and required a Reset.  All other re-boots worked fine and W10 seemed OK.  When I tried to use WinPE to install from a Flat (drive), I could not get Setup to see the RAID0.  After trying many things, I surrendered, deleted the RAID0 and installed W10 on one of my SSDs.  The method I used was derived from a report from AMD support (Matt).  Since I was creating only an NVMe RAID, I did not change the SATA to RAID (left AHCI).  I also disabled CSM.  Working in the BIOS was really bad.  Almost all my clicks to do something required many tries.  When I wanted to select a drive, I might need to click on it 5 times to get results.  Always something!  I have created a USB stick (using RUFUS https://rufus.akeo.ie/ ) with my Unattended install .XML file and will test it on Hyper-V soon.  Enjoy, John.

Sixus, please give us more details of your specifications, including versions of your BIOS and W10 (64 or 32 bit).  In general, users should NOT use drivers from the CD sent with the board - almost always down level.  In this case please go here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download and DL the latest chip set drivers.  I have not used my Wi-Fi but it seems to be functioning.  Please open your BIOS and make sure the WiFi radio is not turned off (disabled).  Enjoy, John.

Hiya!

I see many UEFI updates for many other Ryzen boards but not for our beloved X370 Taichi! According to https://www.asrock.com/support/index.asp%3Fcat=BIOS most of the AM4 boards are getting various goodies, but not the Taichi... Cry I think most of the issues in the changelogs are also applicable to the Taichi as well.

My issues with the Taichi are the untapped potential of otherwise excellent board, namely:

- no new AGESA
- no IOMMU pass-through groups fix/SR-IOV improvements (still requires SW patch)
- no fix for the default Vcore spikes @ auto (P-states OC work but what if I want auto?)
- no hard disable for WIFI/Bluetooth
- no PSP disable switch
- fTPM issues applicable to the Taichi?
- Sapphire boost still buggy here

Is everything really working just fine with that board and it needs no further fixes/improvements?

What about the upcoming Win 10 FCU? AFAIK AMD systems are still dead in the water for FCU. Is the mobo ready?

My suggestions in precise order:

- use DOS UEFI flash method
- do a CMOS clear after the UEFI flash (don't change anything after clearing)
- check if your FlareX are in the right slots
- boot Ubuntu (or a favorite distro) from USB
- check if there is a sound in Ubuntu
- fresh install of Win 10 1703 (not newer, newer are not too well for AMD for now)
- after the fresh install you SHOULD have SOME audio

If you don't have ANY audio/sound in Ubuntu or the fresh Win install after following my steps, I'd suggest you RMA the board.

Keep us posted!

P.S. Did you check if other device can drive your sound system, e.g. your phone or your laptop?

ASRock_TSD,

Thank you very much for your quick response! Clap

The latest BIOS for the Fatal1ty 990FX Killer/3.1 which you provided does appear to have corrected the TPM dysfunction. Smile Windows now recognizes the device as "Trusted Platform Module 2.0" under "Security Devices." TPM.MSC (run as administrator) displays that "the TPM is ready for use."

However, I am a little confused in that the BIOS still displays TPM as "Support Turned Off," even though it is enabled. Any ideas?

Thank you again for supporting your devices! Hug

osten07, please use Instant Flash from the BIOS to update you BIOS.  First hit F9 then F10, then back into BIOS to update.  F9 and F10 after flash and re-boot is also a good idea.  We need more information on your system specifications.  Please post them in your signature as I have, including BIOS and W10 versions.  W10 version 1709 works just fine, I am running it on this machine and a X370 without problem.  If you are using the HD audio, make sure it is enabled in the front panel of the BIOS.  Using CDs with a build is not a good idea - almost always way down level.  Get most drivers from ASRock site but please get your Chip Set drivers here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Enjoy, John.

So this is my first time build and I seem to be having plenty of problems.

Case is a Rosewill Nautalis
Mobo is Ab350M
Ryzen 7 1700
corsair cx650m
zotac 1060 mini 6gb
g.skill flareX f4-2400c15d-16gfxr

ram is in slot a2/b2

I seem to have alot of freezing issues. Ive done a few windows installs and I am currently trying to do a new one right now. The seem to always freeze up in the getting files ready for installation.

When I do get windows installed the system seems pretty unstable, I usually can not do more then a few tasks before the system freezes up.

There always seems to be some issues with getting windows updated correctly aswell, and ive had the problem with the disk utilization at 100%

the system just does not seem stable at all and I do not understand what or why this is happening. As im writing this the windows install just froze at 45% and now i have to do a manual restart.

ive been trying to get this build to work for 2 weeks now and its very frustrating!

What hard disks/SSDs are you using? Have you tried moving them to different ports/M.2 slots?

The HDD is an old one out of my last pc. I thought it might have caused issues but since ignored that. is a seagate HDD baracudda 7200 that and the optical drive are the only 2 things i kept.

I just tried moving the hdd sata to a different port on the mobo.

Now you have a new problem, because the 2nd M2 slot is only running at SATA3 speed so you're severely gimping your NVME drive.
Normally I would always recommend B350, but for what you want you really should have gone with an X370 board.
